They had time, and they were enjoying it. They knew it was going to end at the end of high school, but that was still far off for them. They were always arguing about one thing or another, but you could tell, deep down, that they would stop in a second if the other one didn't enjoy it just the same. Sure, they fought, just like everyone else. Everybody had their theories, but the real reason, as said by Sophie herself, was because he made her laugh, and she made him laugh. They were practically opposites in every sense, but they clicked somewhere, and that's where it counts. Nobody really knew for sure why they were together, but they became known as the hottest “item” in school. His mother and father would always fight, as would his two sisters. His household was always tense, if not chaotic. He was moderately attractive, nothing that would call out a girl's attention, but enough to hold one in. He was another face in the crowd as far as most people were concerned. He was generally well liked, if people really cared. He occasionally sang, and he occasionally played the guitar. He planned on attending community college. His grades were piss-poor, and he was incredibly lazy. She had nothing bad going for her in her life. Her home life was normal, mother and father intact and sane siblings. Men drooled over her occasionally, not excessively. She was a very accomplished tennis player. She was beautiful, well-liked, and intelligent.

Julia Robert’s character was just boring and indulgent and didn’t realize how lucky she was.Sophia was a dream. It was so incredibly sanitized and felt so non-realistic. I also thought it was ridiculous she went to India and Bali and the film didn’t get at all dirty or personal with how difficult the living conditions are for a lot of people there.

I also thought her divorce wasn’t THAT bad (any divorce is bad, but there are some people who are divorcing because they’ve been abused - she was just bored with her husband, which does suck, but does a movie really need to be made out of that? There are far greater tragedies in life). The scenery was beautiful, but I had trouble sympathizing for someone who has enough money to support herself for a year abroad, has amazing experiences at all these places and meets interesting people, yet is still feeling sorry for herself throughout the film. I saw Eat, Pray, Love last night and honestly thought it was really bad. “The Sound of Sunshine” & “Shake it”, both by Michael Franti 🙂

Today’s workout jam: Please help a girl out on this one 😀 My iPod needs some sweet new songs- what are you loving right now? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a movie that’s as good as the book, though 😉 Does that even happen? I LOVED the book, but even with the beautiful scenery and perfect casting, it was missing something. The verdict? It was really good, but not as fab as I thought it would be. My thoughts on Eat, Pray, Love: After a glorious dinner at Bleu Pub last night with the girls, we went to go see Eat, Pray, Love, which I’ve been anxiously awaiting all summer. I think I’ll save some for the Pilot, too 😉 I’m off to get crack-a-lackin on the cooking for tonight, meet the girls for a smoothie, get my workout face on, train two clients and then take dinner over to the commander’s familia. Like a supersoft blonde Oreo, with a creamy filling and strong chai flavor. I’ve had these before in Tucson, but couldn’t wait to try to try them again. When I got back to the casa, I decided to break into these bad Johnnies: Love that they’re a little salty, chewy and not too crumbly.Īfter bfast, I made the pilot some huevos and toast and went to Wizzle to fight for my sanity. The star of the show was 1/2 a crumbled AllieBar that I traded some macaroons for at the Summit 😀 I started off this morning with the usual bfast cookie dough cereal (skip the mashed banana, add more milk): – Chocolate chip gooey butter cakes with ice creamĬheck out who can smell the chicken roasting already:ĭoesn’t she look like a crazy obsessed chicken fiend? Goofer 😀 – Chipotle-style Basmati rice with lime and cilantro

Mexican fruit and veggie salad (cucumber, strawberries, pineapple, jicama, bell pepper, tomato, red onion, lime juice and cilantro) Hi guys 😀 How’s your day going? Mine has been bueno- today has been a little frantic because I’m making dinner for the commander’s familia.
